Hi. Mark here. I have been reading all of your comments, both here and on my twitter, and to those of you who're frustrated, angry, let down, and incredulous, I feel you. I feel the same way. I've had a while to process everything and I'm still bummed. This was not an easy decision for us at all. One of the hardest things we've had to do. Ever. It sucks. The point is we didn't want to rush and put out an inferior record. We also didn't want to become a band who relies on their past success and just plays the same songs every tour, even though we'll always play the older stuff as well. blink-182 NEEDS to make new music. For you, and for us. I did a long interview with Kerrang! about the postponement of the tour, and hopefully that helps explain everything a little better. I think it comes out on Wednesday. To those who've tried to be supportive and understanding, I thank you. For real. This needs to be the best album we've ever recorded, and we're working hard towards that goal. blink-182 for life.

4. Kesibukan masing2 personil. Ini juga menurut saya salah satu faktor terbesar delay album ini (tapi mungkin anda berpikir lain). Mark tiap minggu terbang ke New York buat syuting Hoppus on Music. Meskipun emang Mark yg terlhat paling 'bekerja' untuk proses album ini, seharusnya dia ambil cuti sebentaaar aja buat fokus ke album. Tom? Yah sama saja. Lebih (terlihat) interest dengan AVA dan Modlife nya, tapi sebenarnya Tom-lah yg paling banyak memiliki waktu luang tahun ini, semoga aja dia kerja juga di studio untuk album blink. Travis, ini dia yg paling sibuk di antara ke-3 nya. Tiap malam show di kota yg berbeda. Oke lah dia pernah bilang kalo proyek solonya ini udah ada jauh sebelum blink reuni. Tapi tetap aja seharusnya blink diprioritaskan..
   
5. Mark pernah bilang dalam sebuah interview sekitar 2 bulan lalu kalau blink itu sudah memiliki 3-4 dari 12 lagu yg sudah final. Sudah ada beberapa lagu juga yg sudah siap direkam, dan masih ada 2 lagu yg masih dalam proses penulisan. 3 bulan hanya untuk recording tidak cukup? Jelas, balik lagi ke poin 4
   
6. blink-182 bukan sebuah band lagi. Mungkin ini hanya pendapat pribadi saya aja. Rekaman di tempat terpisah, kontak hanya via email, gak tau nanti hasil albumnya kaya gimana. Jadi, buat apa reuni? blink-182 terakhir menjadi band itu ya sampai tahun 2003. Hello fellow humans in the UK and Europe. I understand your confusion and frustration at hearing the US tour announcement tonight. Here’s what’s up. This tour was booked ALONGSIDE the UK/European dates, a long time ago. We did NOT book the US tour after deciding to postpone the UK/European dates. The plan was to finish the album, tour the UK/Europe, and then come back for the US tour. We ran late on when we thought we’d finish the album, and unfortunately the time we needed made the first leg impossible.
Hopefully it’s for the best, because some of the best work on the album is being done these past few weeks. Now there’s a hard deadline for the album to be turned in, and it will be released during our US tour.
That’s what’s up. I get and share your anger at the postponement of the first leg of the tour. As we’ve said before, it wasn’t a decision lightly made. At all. But don’t think for a second that we decided to tour the US instead of the UK. It’s not the case. For me personally, I can’t wait to get back across the pond. With new songs and a new show.
And lastly, Chelsea Football Club rules. Those who disagree are just jealous, or something.

Blink-182 Reveal Big Plans for New Album, Summer Tour

'It's the first time there will be new music in nine years,' says drummer Travis Barker



A year ago, Blink-182 began work on their first new album since 2003, and they're still months away from being done. But fans will finally hear new songs from the reunited punk-pop trio on a summer U.S. tour with My Chemical Romance, which kicks off August 5th in Holmdel, New Jersey. "That's what we're most excited about," drummer Travis Barker told Rolling Stone last night. "It's the first time there will be new music in nine years."

Both bands had gathered at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood – a notorious hard-rock hangout for musicians and groupies going back to the hard-partying days of Keith Moon and Led Zeppelin, and where Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister can often still be found at the end of the bar downing Jack-and-Cokes – to announce the tour.

Blink-182 will be working on their still-untitled new album virtually up until they moment they leave. "We have until July 31st to hand the record in, and I think we'll use every single day until then, as always," said singer-bassist Mark Hoppus.

At this point, the band are still writing and recording new material. "We thought we were closing in on the end, and literally a week ago we pumped out a whole set of stuff that I think will be some of the best on the album," said singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge. "Recording is never really finished. You slide or limp into home base."

For this tour, the band plans a much larger stage production than fans might remember from the past. "We've never really done that before. Like most bands, we started in a bedroom," said DeLonge. "That said, I could get up there and still make a really bad dick joke."

On Monday, Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance firmed up their summer plans when they both committed to the 2011 Honda Civic Tour, a 40-plus date trek that runs from early August until mid-October.

And the timing of the tour is key ... because it's during those dates that Blink will finally, totally, 100 percent-ly release their long-in-the-works new album. For real.

"We are very excited to kick off the tour. We're excited to have a new record be coming out while we're on this tour, and we're super excited to take it out on the road," Blink's Mark Hoppus told MTV News Monday night in Los Angeles, before a press conference to announce the tour dates. "We absolutely have to turn the record in by July 31 — that's the rule."

Of course, he tempered all that enthusiasm by joking, "At this point, we'll be ready to turn it in my mid-September." But in all seriousness, the Blink album is nearing completion (drummer Travis Barker estimated that it was "70 percent finished") and they plan on promoting it on the road this summer. And unlike their 2009 reunion tour, this time they'll even be playing new songs, with the help of — at long last — lasers.

"I just want lasers. That's what I said last time, though, so we'll see," Tom DeLonge laughed. "I'm excited [because] I think on this next tour we're going to be able to have a lot more options of what we can do, because the music is going to afford a little more latitude, just because we've been doing some really cool stuff and different stuff with the new record. So I'm really excited to bring that out.

"I know for a fact that there's a really good chance that whatever Travis does on drums, I'll be on that with him, maybe holding off of him, or I'll be inside him as he spins around," he added. "We're excited. The whole record, the tour and everything is going to be A-plus."

Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance have announced they will be teaming up for this year’s Honda Civic Tour, which kicks off on August 5th in Holmdel, NJ and winds down on October 15th in San Diego. We caught up with both bands at the kick-off party for the tour announcement last night at Los Angeles’ Rainbow Room and got the inside scoop on the tour. We also have confirmed the status of blink-182’s highly anticipated new album, which will officially be out this fall.

“We’ll be turning it in before the tour starts so it’s out during the tour,” blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus says of the band’s first album in eight years. “With a single and video before that. We have 16 songs we worked from. I think we’ve narrowed those down to like 12. And we’ll probably put 10 on the album. I think that it’s most like our last record, but taking a step forward from that and also kind of keeping track of where we started.”

As for what fans can expect from the album? “I think we’ve done a really great job of separating our record into sections where some stuff is throwback and some stuff is very progressive and some stuff is just plain different,” guitarist Tom DeLonge says. “One of the things I’m really proud of about this record is a lot of songs are really built for a big audience. Even the ones that are a throwback. One of the ones we just did the other day was actually spawned from a swing beat by (drummer) Travis (Barker). It’s literally a futuristic version of the Adam and the Ants song everyone would reference. We took it to a place where it would remind you of old blink on something totally new. My point is it’s a progressive throwback that’s built for a large audience so it’s exciting.”

Blink-182 have been given a July 31 deadline by their record label to finish their new album.

The reunited pop-punkers are still writing new material for their sixth studio effort, which will be their first record since their 2003 self-titled album. Speaking to Rolling Stone, drummer Travis Barker said the band will "use every single day" until the deadline to get the collection completed.

Blink-182 recently angered UK fans by announcing their summer US tour – set to take place soon after they had been due to play UK shows, which they cancelled.

1. Sudah ada 14 lagu yang selesai direkam. Tapi tidak semua akan masuk album baru. Hanya sekitar 10-12 lagu saja. Masing2 personil memberikan idenya pada beberapa lagu untuk album baru nanti.
   
2. Single akan dirilis akhir Juli 2011. Tom bilang bahwa tidak hanya satu single yang akan dirilis, tapi ada beberapa.
   
3. Album baru akan dirilis selama blink-182 melakukan tur Honda Civic 2011. Dalam interview, Tom mengatakan kemungkinan besar album akan rilis pada pertengahan September 2011.
